2nd Annual Kansha Kick-Off
Join us for the 2nd Annual Kansha Kick-Off at the Nisei Lounge in Wrigleyville and help the Kansha Project reach our $15,000 goal!
The Kansha Project is a JACL Chicago program that connects self-identified Japanese Americans, ages 18-25, to the continuing legacy of the Japanese American community’s incarceration during World War II. The program centers around an educational trip to Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo neighborhood and the Manzanar concentration camp site. Alumni of the program have gone on to be engaged in intersectional community work. The Kansha Project is now entirely youth-run by Alumni of the program. This program is more important than ever due to current political climate and we need your help to sustain it!
The Kansha Kick-Off fundraiser will go from 6:30pm – 9:30pm.
Anyone ages 21+ are invited to attend.
CASH TIPS ARE ENCOURAGED AND GREATLY APPRECIATED
Last year we raised close to $1,000 at this event with help from over 50 attendees of our intergenerational diverse friends and family.
MEET OUR BARTENDERS: Kansha participant Alumni from the past 5 years of the program will be bartending throughout the night with surprise community bartenders TBD.
